Woman of Dsjidda (Jeddah) selling flatbread mb-code M40384-5 presenting Charles II with aWoman of Dsjidda (Jeddah) selling flatbread, Arabia, c1772 1774. From the account of the expedition to Arabia and the Middle East undertaken by the German explorer Carsten Niebuhr on behalf of Frederick V of Denmark in 1761 1767. Niebuhr was the only survivor of the journey, with his companions, including the expedition's artist, Georg Wilhelm Baurenfeind, succumbing to disease.
