This is one of three drawings that were created at the reed bed on Sharpham Marsh
This work was started by making monoprints of the reeds using the wet earth that was on site
on the Sharpham Estate down by the marsh
which can resemble the female form
Plains and Windows Saltmarsh these reed beds must haveTwo large windows on the side of a former industrial building that is now converted into flats. These huge windows caught my eye as they reflected the neighbouring buildings. I especially enjoy the shapes and colours here and the way the surface is divided in to blocks. In some ways drawing this little piece reminded me of a project in which I drew large Moorish arches in an art gallery on walls covered with newspaper. I begun the Moorish arches with
